Howard Lubert, Area President – Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic
Mr. Lubert co-founded the Mid-Atlantic Region in 2010. After 25 years in the private equity space he recognized the unique features of the Keiretsu Forum process and model and sought out Randy Williams to explore opening chapters on the East Coast. Randy introduced him to Vince Leusner who was also contimplating a Philadelphia Chapter and they decided to form the first Mid-Atlanitc Chapter in Philadelphia in August, 2010.
He is the Founder and Managing Partner/Senior Analyst at SafeHatch LLC, a business acceleration and corporate advisory services consultancy that supports startup and early stage technology companies. Mr. Lubert spun SafeHatch out of Safeguard Scientifics in 2000 after the dot.com implosion. The Company typically takes senior management role(s) in the portfolio companies it supports and works with them until they are prepared to complete their management teams with full-time employees. Business Acceleration services are provided for companies in many disciplines, but are usually focused in the Internet, e-business, security, SaaS, infrastructure, software, e-learning, mobile or wireless spheres.
Mr. Lubert recently became the Managing Director of the Rowan University Innovation Venture Fund (RIVF), an Evergreen Fund designed to support the entrepreneurial and innovation initiatives on the Rowan University campuses as well as the South Jersey area. The Fund has invested $1m in each of its first two years of operations and syndicates deals too large for the Fund first with Keiretsu Forum and then other area angel groups.
Mr. Lubert brings 31+ years of formalizing and optimizing the due diligence and deal flow processes for various venture capital funds including Safeguard Scientifics and its family of private equity funds, as well as other angel investment groups to Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic. Lubert was also senior manager at Deloitte & Touche, where he played a principal role in the development of the e-business consulting practice. He is a renowed Term Sheet creator and negotiator and takes on this role in every due diligence project in the Mid-Atlantic and South-East Regions.

Vince Leusner, Area Vice President – Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic
Mr. Leusner co-founded the Keiretsu Forum Philadelphia Chapter in 2010 which has grown, into the Mid-Atlantic Region with Chapters in Philadelphia, DC, Pittsburgh, and New York. Vince, an accredited investor, is a Philadelphia-based partner with PROFIT FOCUS CFO LLC which focuses on emerging and mid-market companies, with revenues of up to $75 million, that want to increase cash, profitability, sales and company value.
Mr. Leusner has 33 years of financial management and financial advisory experience, working with publicly traded and privately held entities of all sizes. Vince has managed, advised and consulted with entities in North and South America, Europe and Asia. He worked for clients in a
vast variety of industries, including services, construction, media, financial services, retailing, distribution, public utilities, hospitality, manufacturing, not-for-profit and gaming. His strengths are optimizing: Treasury/Cash management, financial performance, Processes and procedures,
Cost effective internal controls, financial management, financial reporting, budgeting and variance analysis.

George Pelose, Area Vice President – Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic
Mr. Pelose has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services and corporate legal fields. Mr. Pelose retired from Marlin Business Services Corp. in 2014 after serving 15 years as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Executive Vice President. Mr. Pelose joined Marlin when it was a start-up and was instrumental in growing it into a publicly-traded financial services company and federally-regulated bank holding company. Prior to Marlin, George was with Merrill Lynch Asset Management, providing legal and transactional advice to a portfolio management team that invested principally in bank loans and high-yield debt securities. Earlier in his career, Mr. Pelose was an attorney in the Business & Finance section of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, and was a corporate loan officer in the commercial lending division of PNC Bank. He received his BA and JD degrees from the University of Pennsylvania with honors. George is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is an accredited investor and has been a member of the Keiretsu Forum since June 2015, and is on the Advisory Committee for the Rowan Innovation Venture Fund. In addition to his role at Keiretsu, Mr. Pelose currently provides strategic business and legal advice to several small businesses in the region and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Rowan University, teaching business, legal and entrepreneurial courses.
